Lavender Scone
I wanted to make a more savory tasting scone than a sweet one. This was to take the place of a biscuit or bread with my dinner.
Mix together:
2 cups wheat pastry flour
1 tbsp of baking powder
3/4 tsp of salt
Cut in [like making a pie crust]:
6 tbsp of butter (cold and cut into pieces)
Once this is all incorporated drizzle on top:
2-3 tablespoons of Honey, work into the flour mixture.
Then add:
1 tbsp of culinary lavender
Mix together with fork:
1/3 cup heavy cream
2 eggs
Make a well in the dry mix and add cream and egg mixture. Stir together from pulling from the sides to the center lightly until it forms a dough. Don't over mix.
On a lightly floured board or counter top roll out into a square that's about 6-7" Cut into 4 sqs. the the sqs. into triangle making 8 total. You can also use a biscuit cutter. Bake on a cookie sheet with parchment at 400 about 20- 25 minutes.
You can also brush the tops with cream before baking.
