I tried to share my thoughts here last year in September then forgot about it - way to busy. The funny thing is all of a sudden I viewed similar posts to my thoughts of making comparisons. It's that way it seems to be sometimes.
Coffee or Mushroom 'coffee'? Apparently, that was my question for some time. I really didn't like the coffee I was purchasing in town, even though there are reports of healthy benefits from drinking coffee (but an organic good quality one if you can get it I couldn't). From the brands available they were no longer agreeing with me as once a true "coffee-holic!" Most all of my relatives were / coffee-holics. I remember one time years ago as there were the usual negative studies out, this time the bad health effects of drinking coffee, even decremental possibly shortening your life span (though recentl studies show health benefits). My gram was shocked to say the least and didn't believe it at all! She told me her Pop lived to a ripe old age of 93 and her Mom 94. My gram was 91 and my Pap, her husband, 90. Only, as we know, from other illness coffee didn't take them out. In fact my dad is 92 and grew up as others on steeped coffee. :) - There are stories about that. :)

My gram would get her pot out fill it with water bringing it to a boil and then dump in coffee, letting set til all the grounds settled on the bottom. She could have used the top of the pot where the coffee could filter through as you poured the water over. You know like if you go to a good coffee/late' shop they will do a pour over if you ask. When that pot was purchased you could have said it was fancy - she never used the top but used the pot from the time it was bought until she know longer could make coffee. It was strong ~

Ryze was the first mushroom coffee I bought, I was most interested seeing all the ads. I liked it from the first cup I made, it did satisfy giving me energy more than one cup. For instance when I drink coffee I seem to keep going for more or constantly re-heating I could very well drink several cups without even thinking to one Ryze mushroom cup! Each cup seems to be coincident all on a good note no chalky sediment that keeps you stir or shaking a thermal lidded container. For me it tastes great I also add my collagen with peptides - perfect ~. But to be fair I wanted to try a few others.
When I first tried this brand I really wanted it to work out for me since I purchased it through Public Square from a small business owner. I truly feel it is important to support local small American businesses. But to be honest I made a cup as directed and it was an immediate no with the first swallow. The second and third - it was a NO. It was thick like gravy. One you would have to keep stirring as there is sediment at the bottom. Now to be fare I thought while typing here I would try another cup though I made it with water to thin it out some and add a bit of frothed milk. Halfway down it is still a NO! :( now off to the dumpster - sorry.
The first time I saw MUD \ WTR - naturally was through ads on my internet sources since I was looking a "mushroom coffees." Our local health food store had started carrying it and I grabbed a couple to try packs. I was impressed with the chai flavor but wasn't thrilled about constant stirring as it has a chalky texture. But I really wanted it to work for me. So I purchased a couple containers through their site and to be honest I dealt with the chalkiness but it started to upset my stomach. I questioned if that was really it and kept drinking it then stopped. My stomach cleared, however, I kept it in my cupboard thinking to try it again. When I would run out of Ryze I would make a cup here and there or a cup of coffee. A week ago I drinking MUD \WTR and after the third day my stomach started to turn so I quit. With this in mind I will keep whats left for emergencies - lol and of course I always have coffee if needed.

On a good note many people have a positive cup of MUD \ WTR and enjoy it. I like the fact that you seem to have a great company customer rapport and that is commendable in todays world, so does Ryze. Also MUD \ WTR gives military discounts - hats off to them for that as well.
I may continue trying other brands we'll see but for now I'll, stick with what is agreeing with me. Tea is also right up there and for those that haven't another coffee alternative is and I believe the first possibly is
Teeccino that started in 1993 by Caroline MacDougall and became a reality in 1994. They have I believe 35 organic gluten free blends. I like their Mocha, Chia and French Roast. Most good stores will carry some and of course on line. I think I'll have a cup now. :)
BUT DON'T FORGET YOUR WATER INTAKE ITS MOST IMPORTANT~
I sometimes but Celtic Sea Salt in if I'm feeling a bit off to help with electrolytes.
OH I just about forgot!!!
I pulled a fast one . . . .
Last year my dad had hip surgery and he was at rehab for awhile that it wasn't working out, no surprise there, so he came home with me as care-giver extraordinaire ~ ha ha. My dad is 92 and does well however he doesn't really know how to deal with not doing something. I get up very early and as he was mending he slept in some then as thing improved he would get up earlier and it was starting to take some most needed time from me. I mentioned to him, you should sleep in some since you don't really nap, he would really something. Next I mentioned it again but adding, I tried to be very quiet as to not wake you, he replied, I don't hear you I smell the coffee. ARGH!
And, that's when I stopped making coffee! And, he did sleep in a bit longer. Ha ha. . . He is back in his bachelor pad - lol and doing good. And though I've mad coffee in my grams pot and have a great Ninja I've only had a couple cups since then.
